What was going through your mind, man?

So when I found out I was going to be a dad, right, I was away filming Blade Runner.

And I came home from filming because you kind of do, because to be honest, I'm never number one on the call sheet.

So I kind of, I came home for, you know, like a week between when my scene was needed or whatever.

And Hayley, my partner, was like, she was acting a bit cagey.

And she, but then I also, I'll be honest, I also thought, God, it was kind of warming up.

It was kind of sunny at the time.

second daughter had that.

and now it's out how has that been for you as an actor just going through this process and now having it out for people to watch and playing such an iconic character in the franchise

yeah i think playing like so playing an iconic character in the franchise is like it's it's many things at once because there's like it's a massive massive honor like it's huge because you begin to realize how big it is for people.

And you realize that this kind of this thing comes ready made with a fandom and therefore like an expectation as well.

So like the expectation, I think part of you know even since it's come out the only kind of most people have been like really praising of the portrayal because i put over like a lot into it and and people have been very nice about it but there's been you know small enclaves of fun because at the end of the day right these people are well they're not people these are like we're in a world where people have come to expect monstrous CGI and the appetite for that goes up every year.

I mean, I saw recently a thing of Hugh Jackman when he first played Wolverine and we all went, amazing, he looks amazing.

And then to cut to now, the expectation on what... our heroes or indeed villains look like is so so different because people have just become so desensitized to these monstrous levels of cgi literally monstrous so like um that there is a bit of an intimidating wall to face in being told this is gonna we're going for the angle where you it's practical you are going to look like you it's going to be a human body with prosthetics, with CGI being lent on only in the areas where we can't, you know, like an interchangeable piece of the arm is the CGI.

How long was the process for you to get this done? Like I imagine a while, yes, to get it from start to finish.
