What can you say about immortality? Sam Barlow, of course, friend of the show.

You know, he popped onto the scene with her story and really turned heads.

Last week, we were talking about our frustrations with achievements and trophies and what they've done to games and development.

And Sam Barlow, who Hogue tends to like his products, Sammy B, Sammy B came out and he basically spoke to exactly what Travis commented on last week.

publicly and basically said, if they do one big achievement update in the future, my wish is that it would be to remove achievements.

The reason he said that is because he said from a developer point of view, building your games around the expectations of achievements and trophies now is maddening, essentially was the summarization.

I think we have a habit here talking about things that are then later talked about more publicly.

So patting ourselves on the back for this one, boys.

Yeah, Sam Barlow is one of my favorite creators and it is no surprise to me as one of the more artistic minded of those creators that he doesn't like the commercial implementation of achievements because you'll never make everybody happy on them, right? Because as he says in that thread that you shared with me, Ains, you're balancing out all right we want to make things interesting and difficult to find and it's an actual achievement but then you piss off everybody that's just an achievement hunter out there but if you make everything too easy it's not satisfying and they don't really do anything so it's just not a good process for the artistic side of making games
