He's, this season, got a short-term contract.

I think it's like a rolling month contract with at the moment so he's one that's keen to impress and I think the Southend fans have been very happy with him but yeah Sam Austin I'm not sure if it was his first start to the season but I know he's been mainly used from the bench this year and obviously he came off the bench and Dan spoke about the four changes at half time in the Tamworth game he was rewarded with a start this game and he's repaid the manager's favour hasn't he with three goals in the first half and yeah you spoke about this game it's 6-0 half time 8 minutes it was 2-0 it's it's You don't back Gateshead to score many goals.

So when they're 2-0 down after eight minutes, it's almost curtains already.

And the only thing that has surprised me about this game is we haven't seen the corner flag yet today.

So they were probably the better side over the course of the first half, first two thirds of the game.

And I've seen a couple of things on social media after the game where a lot of people are saying Simon Weaver needs to go.

And I think they only made one change before they conceded.

Then he made a couple afterwards to try and get back in the game.

Whereas I think some fans are saying a proactive manager would have made the changes, the tweaks at 0-0-1. and potentially won that game and stopped the direction that they felt it was going in.
