We're going to go ahead and say yes to Kelly Evans and Josh Groban on the Supreme Court.

The only other contested race in our area that isn't a local race is the race for, of all things, the Board of Equalization.

between incumbent Sally Lieber, former assemblywoman from Mountain View, and John Pimentel, who's an independently wealthy member of the San Mateo County Community College District Board of Trustees, one of the longer titles on the ballot.

He's running very hard.

Interestingly, he said he's even open to the idea of abolishing the Board of Equalization.

So it does become sort of a staging ground for someone who has larger statewide ambitions.

Sally Lieber, when she was in the assembly, alienated a lot of people in the third house who thought she was difficult to work with.

On the other hand, she may be one of the few members of the board of equalization who was run for reelection.

This is the district that is, like, San Francisco Bay Area, uh, dominated.

Uh, Sally Lieber is an incumbent member.

She, of course, previous to that, uh, was the, uh, speaker pro tem of the State Assembly.

Uh, unlike a lot of these Bay Area Democrats, she has not served on the Sacram- San Francisco Board of Supervisors, um, but she could have.
