She had virtually no professional acting experience, and somehow she walks into this absolute brutal film opposite of Sally freaking Hawkins and gives this just absolute spellbinding performance.

It is absolutely amazing.

And, you know, when you're up against someone like Sally Hawkins...

That is a feat.

She really does just elevate this film.

Because sitting alongside what I think is a really inspired kind of character is another child, who in the movie initially introduces us as being a child with significant needs.

It was reported that he had mentioned that it's getting more difficult for him to make movies, physically speaking, at this point in his life.

And so this film is a very gentle sort of contemporary hangout movie about social workers, and one of which is played by Cato Flynn from The widows pay and tons of Emmys the last couple days yeah and she got her start working with Mike Lee as well she's in happy-go-lucky with Sally Hawkins and here it's you know these two social workers who are best friends one of which has just left her abusive boyfriend and she's moved in with the other social worker and And it's them kind of bonding over this period of time.

And Katie O'Flynn's Amy has parents who are elderly, one of which starts exhibiting signs of dementia and really feel for this family and her friend as well.

And Alice Bailey Johnson, who's the other social worker, pardon me, is... also just like this like ball of sunshine and kind of keeps everybody very optimistic, but also has their own problems in life.

seven, The Shape of Water, a fantasy film about a mute woman rescuing a fish man.

Now, they merge the genres for their Actor in a Supporting Role, so that went to Heath Ledger for The Dark Knight, beating out Tom Cruise for Tropic Thunder, Robert Downey Jr. for Tropic Thunder, Ralph Fiennes for The Duchess, and Philip Seymour Hoffman for Doubt.

I think maybe Sally Hawkins played Elisa.

Maybe the fact that Doug Jones is the creature, Amphibian Man, maybe the fact that he did not talk was what was so attractive.

Octavia Spitzer either won or was nominated.

She's a class triple a top S tier actress out there, you know, so she's always going to be top notch.
