Salford Harriers

Vale Royal were first in 53.31, second were Trafford in 55.24 and then just five seconds behind were Altringham in third in 55.29.

It was a similar story in the men's race with Salford Harriers leading from start to finish after Jack Marr would have brought them home clear on the first leg.

Fastest lap of the day went to Harry Wakefield who rounded off a very good team performance on the final stage.

Vale Royal and Blackburn had won the men's race for the last four years, with two victories each, so Salford were delighted to win for the first time in several years.

And the icing on the cake for them came on the final leg, when Ellis Garamsegi, representing the Salford B team, overtook Liverpool Harriers to finish second overall behind the Salford A team.

So the results were as follows.

First place was Salford Harriers A team in 61-47.

Second were Solford Harriers B team in 63-55.
