Sakura Wars

um, uh, what was that other anime we watched where it was, it was, like, of interest to no one? What was it called? Oh,

was it the, was it the pilot? Was it Sakura Wars?

Yeah, that was

it.

I like the, like, so the thing is, because the quality of those cyber shot photos are so poor, I can't really see any of them as legitimately approaching art.

But man, I really do like that picture of Yuji Naka hanging out, looking at the Sakura Wars

announce at him.

It's like

I know Sega, even though they had some layoffs recently, and poo-poo to that, I know they're doing better than some of their peers.

I know Yakuza did quite well for them, as well as P3, so hopefully some of that money and resources are being directed to cool projects like a new Sakura Wars game.

I really hope so, because they're still doing stage events.

There's going to be a concert at the end of the month with Chisi Okayama and a few of the Old Review.

I recognized Kosuke Fujishima's artwork from things like Oh My Goddess.

That was also setting up a neural network for me to recognize his art in Sakura Wars.

Take a drink.

Thank you.

Daniel.

Daniel.

Just so you know, anytime Sakura Wars comes up, that's when you take a drink.

I'm ready.

Yeah.

[laughs] And then guy who's played 1,000 games, he, you guys need to hop on, I don't know, S- Sakura Taisen or whatever.

And then, like, I'm the guy who's played 10,000 video games, and I think you guys need to hop on, uh, Zarigani Ichibou.

[laughs] From, from a couple episodes back.

I still haven't played it yet, but, um, that's definitely one that I think about a lot, Garrett, as I, I... that I've always wanted to try.

Uh, another one, and this is actually interesting 'cause we got rumors about this series getting remasters this week, um, is Sakura Wars, which is an old Sega-

Oh, yeah

... one.

I've talked about it on the show before-

Mm-hmm

... where like, um, you know, I have a, a couple Sakura Wars games 'cause I have this, this Wii one, of course, uh, So Long, My Love, which is like in, based in New York.

It's like a strategy-

Congrats.

You may als- you may also know her as the almost world record holder for the largest Sakura Wars collection.

[laughs]

And in, and in my heart, y- you're in my Guinness Book of World Records.

Uh, please welcome to the show for the very first time, the queen of the English-speaking Sakura Wars world, please welcome Samantha Ferreira.

How the hell are you, Samantha?

Thank you.

Yeah, likewise.

We don't have an article on it, but there was actually announced yesterday that a Japanese-only Sega Saturn SRPG involving mechas was getting released in the West.

Oh, so Sakura Wars?

No. No.

It is called Vixen 357.

It looks like an SRW clone.

It really does, and I am so excited for it because that's just who I am.

Well, it sounds like Sakura Wars on paper, but I guess not.

No, no. No. No.
