Mikawa graduated from Kasukabe Kyoe High School, a baseball powerhouse in Saitama Prefecture, before entering Rikyo University.

Standing nearly 190 cm tall, Mikawa's best pitch was his fastball, which he threw at more than 150 km per hour.

But he pitched in only three games during his four years at his university.

Junko was known for being a stellar student, and at 17, she was a third-year student at Yashio Minami High School, where her classmates and teachers adored her.
