I ask your pardon for my sins and grace to make this time of prayer fruitful.

My Immaculate Mother, Saint Joseph, my Father and Lord, my Guardian Angel, intercede for me.

Today we dedicate our prayers in suffrage for the souls in purgatory.

Souls that are still being purified of the remains of sin.

I thank you, my God, for the good resolutions, affections and inspirations that you have communicated to me during this meditation.

I ask your help to put them into practice.

Morning Glory Consecration Prayer Pray to Saint Joseph.

O glorious Saint Joseph, chosen by God to be the guardian of the Holy Family, whose protection is so great, so strong, in union with the Blessed Virgin Mary and our Savior Jesus Christ, send down from heaven a blessing from God to protect us from any harm, strengthen us in body, soul, and spirit.

We ask this through thy powerful intercession.

Holy Family, pray for us.

Eliud fathered Eleazar.

Eliezer fathered Matan, Matan fathered Jacob, and Jacob fathered Joseph, the husband of Mary, who gave birth to Jesus, who is called the Messiah.

So all the generations from Abraham to David were 14 generations, and from David until the exile to Babylon, 14 generations, and from the exile to Babylon until the Messiah, 14 generations.

The birth of Jesus Christ came about this way.

After his mother, Mary, had been engaged to Joseph, it was discovered before they came together that she was pregnant from the Holy Spirit.

So her husband, Joseph, being a righteous man and not wanting to disgrace her publicly, decided to divorce her secretly.

But after he had considered these things, an angel of the Lord appeared to him in a dream saying, Joseph, son of David, don't be afraid to take Mary as your wife because what has been conceived in her is from the Holy Spirit.

She will give birth to a son and you are to name him Jesus because he will save his people from their sins.

Amen.

And a prayer to St. Joseph.

St. Joseph, you are the chaste and loving spouse of the Virgin Mary, the foster father of Jesus, the protector and provider of the Holy Family and all families.

We have complete confidence in your loving care for new life and in your fidelity to the family.

We commend our efforts to your prayers and protection.

Help us always to defend the gift of human life that it may grow to the abundance of eternal life, promised and bestowed on us by your Son, our brother Jesus Christ.

In St. Joseph, we pray for a happy death.

O Saint Joseph, whose protection is so great, so strong, so prompt before the throne of God, I place in you all my interests and desires.

O St. Joseph, do assist me by your powerful intercession and obtain for me from your divine Son all spiritual blessings through Jesus Christ our Lord, so that having engaged here below your heavenly power, I may offer my thanksgiving and homage to the most loving of fathers.

O St. Joseph, I never weary of contemplating you and Jesus asleep in your arms.

Now family, I need you to understand why a statement like that should cause us to examine scripture.

Because if Jesus placed Joseph above God the Father, we have a serious theological problem.

In Matthew 6.33, the scripture tells us, But seek ye first the kingdom of God and his righteousness, and all these things shall be added unto you.

Now, Jesus spoke those words during his earthly ministry.

Let's examine Luke chapter 2.

Jesus was approximately 12 years old.

Mary and Joseph have traveled to Jerusalem for the annual Passover festival.

When they left the celebration, they began to journey home, assuming Jesus was somewhere among the traveling companions.

and the grace to make this time of prayer fruitful.

Lord, as we place ourselves in your presence, truly present in the Blessed Sacrament, we ask your help to take to heart the expression of your very last sentiments.

Preach to all nations.

Our Lord's Return from Egypt The date of our Lord's return from Egypt is intimately connected with the date of Herod's death.

For on the one hand, the Gospel tells us that St. Joseph remained in Egypt till he received word from God, and on the other hand, there are good grounds to admit that St. Joseph received the divine message very soon after the death of Herod, and that he then did not delay, but rather hastened his return.

Considering how numerous were the Jews in Egypt, how constant their communications with Palestine, how great their hatred of Herod, it is certain that the news of Herod's death would have soon reached St. Joseph in the ordinary way, but it was first made known to him by the angel of the Lord, so that a very short interval must be admitted between the death of the monarch and the angelic message.

That Saint Joseph hastened his return upon this divine message is implied in the fact that he did not know that Archelaus was Herod's successor till he reached the Holy Land.

The intention of Joseph was to settle down in Bethlehem as the proper place in which to rear the son of David, near Jerusalem, from which the Messiahs was expected to extend his rule over the world.

He therefore started by the great caravan road which connects Egypt with Damascus.

This road passes by Gaza and Ramla, and it is probably in this last-named town, which is connected by a branch road with Jerusalem, that Joseph, in obedience to a new divine message, gave up his purpose to reside in Bethlehem.

and withdrew into Galilee.
