And then in Saint-Gervais, uh, as well, that was just, uh, I felt like a superstar running through the city.

It was really, really cool.

Everyone that finishes is a superstar.

So he was already shaping teams at that stage of his career.

And I quite like the story about how he came... to Shadow as well because basically he had a massive strop and stormed out of JWA John Wire in 1971 and he was due at the Osterreich ring and just didn't turn up And he went to Saint-Gervais for the Can-Am race to drive for Shadow instead.

And David York was on the phone to him saying, I'm going to ruin you.

You know, you just walked out on us.

Uh, didn't see any of that.

You know, La Balme, uh, all those sections between, yeah, Cour- the Saint-Gervais and, uh, and Italy, I, I didn't see anything.

Deliberately didn't eat a gel in the opening section because previous UTMB attempts had given him stomach problems.

One of the cool things about UTMB is the interplay between the mountains and civilization.

Like for all the cols and just being, quote-unquote, "out there," you're also coming in and out of Chamonix, Saint-Gervais, Les Contamines, Courmayeur, Champex-Lac, a lot of these t- cities, towns, villages.

Does Tor have that same feel?

And I was like, I'm feeling good.

We get into St. Gervais.

St. Gervais is like lined the whole town and you run all through town and everybody's giving you high fives and all these little kids and families are out.

But, like, athletes who are skinny, who are already skinny and, like, anywhere below 70 kilograms, they should not be messing around with this stuff, I don't think.

One insight that I picked up in your, in your post-race interviews, and, uh, correct me on the facts here, but I, I believe you didn't take in any calories until Saint-Gervais.

Yep.
