Sahih International

319 and 320.

And just so people know, I'm reading from Sahih International Translation, just because it's convenient on my phone.

So 319 says, indeed the religion in the sight of Allah is Islam.

And those who were given the scripture, those who were given the people of the book, did not differ except after knowledge had come to them out of jealous animosity between themselves.

Verse 12, recited by Mishri Rashid Al-Afasi.

In the Sahih International Translation, Allah said, What prevented you from prostrating when I commanded you? Satan said, I am better than him, you created me from fire and created him from clay.

Two things before we go on.

The first, this is not the only place the exchange appears, Surah Sa'd, verses 75 and 76 tells it again, with the same answer.
