So they just kind of did a switchy switch because of Mike Bison.

And Sagat was Sagat? Sagat was just Sagat.

Sagat apparently was from the first game, which I learned today also.

first game, like Street Fighter 2 was like a national religion in the 90s in America.

Hey, other guys that you have not met yet and will not see in any other scenes but this one, would you please take care of the titular character for me? I would tell

Sagat to do it, but we're saving him for the sequel.

All of his lines are totally incomprehensible in this, by the way, listeners.

There's a character called Sagat, and every time he said it, I thought, is he saying Sag after? Is he trying to negotiate with the Union?

Well, certain actors are putting in quite a bit more hours than others in this movie.

So yeah, I think a union deal does need to be reached.

mainly because i had forgotten that she was in it but uh you know uh It's a pretty strange one because that does feel like one of the bigger casting draws that the film goes for.

And it just makes, it completely bounces off you.

You know what I mean? What do we think of Wes Studi as Sagat? A Native American man playing a very racially ambiguous character.

Well, that's half of the cast of this film, isn't it? Yeah, that's true.

It's not grounded in reality like a, a strictly like Bruce Lee style game is.

It draws much more heavily from, from manga and anime at the time to the point where something I should have looked at beforehand But the characters of Ryu and Sagat, there's actually a manga that they are directly, I'm not going to say lifted, but I will say there's a very strong inspiration for their designs.

But Japan has you fight a monk named Retsu, who is bald and has big ol' eyebrows.

And after him, you face Geki, a just straight-up ninja, like right out of a Godfrey Ho flick, who can teleport and toss shuriken until Sagat, at the very end, he's the only other character who has a projectile, if I'm not mistaken.

the usa has the turbo jobber known as joe he is a blonde guy another blonde guy who wears red like ken but he can't even shoot fireballs so he sucks and you're in your right district to clown on joe if you so desire after joe is is he

You would've been more mad.

But you know what they also messed up? Instead of putting Akuma only, they could have put Sagat with a shotgun.

right right and so like for a game like street fighter like i prefer like street fighter 6 has a little bit too much often sometimes like the throw loops for example kill the tension for me um but i still think the tension's there but uh yeah i think they want to avoid like the old school street fighter 2 fireball zoning right like some people love that and i actually have you know i like i love some classic zoning as well and i love some slow play but i think the devs in general like we need to avoid this at all costs like

Like, if we ever have an old Sagat

doing Tiger, Tiger, Tiger, Tiger uppercut, it's like, we failed.

That's fighting him dead.

He's probably one of the biggest, other than, uh, a couple other characters, but yeah.

Sagat is 7'5".

Yeah, Sagat's the fucking monster of a tall person, yeah.
