Saddle Creek Records

In 2003, they released their first album, More Parts Per Million, on Sub Pop, who would release their next two albums as well.

The next four albums were released on Kill Rockstars and then Saddle Creek, and in 2016, the band went on an indefinite hiatus.

Until recently, that is.

A few weeks ago, the Thermals released their latest album, Under Crushing Rain.

He runs Saddle Creek Records.

When his label released Bright Eyes' 2002 album, it broke a sales number that seemed unfathomable.

The first record to hit that 100,000 milestone would've been Lifted, and we had a big party.

Saddle Creek threw a party for Bright Eyes in the Omaha Zoo, and they invited all the other indie labels out.

They made a wooden record plaque, kind of a parody of the gold and platinum records major labels give their artists.

It inspired a trend.

Spoon eventually garnered major label attention and signed to Elektra for one album released in 1998.

So still have, you know, long time experience with it.

Uh, it's me dance macabre, uh, from the faint, uh, basically dance punk, uh, from the saddle Creek records, Omaha, Nebraska scene that was, you know, bright eyes and cursive that we're listening to, you know, a lot at that time.

So you essentially have the energy of punk with synths and a lot of really catchy songs, really cool, uh, you know, synth hooks and just a really fun, fun record.

Yeah.

Yeah.

I mean, with saddle Creek records and

yeah.

Yeah.

Because I grew up in South Dakota and Omaha was like the closest cool music scene.

And like the Saddle Creek Records stuff was really big to me.
