Sacred Bones Records

New album just came out a couple weeks ago.

And Sacred Bones.

And I'm going to play some similar stuff to follow that.

So stay tuned.

Nurnberg was before that, a track called Valacy from 2018.

That's a band from Belarus, or from Minsk.

And I kicked things off with Black Marble, a brand new track from a brand new album, Life in Small Places and Sacred Bones.

That track was called Panopticon Calls.

from the mid 80s and they're doing their first show in ages in New York anyway coming up on October 10th Boy Dirt Car playing at Fringe Records in Ridgewood presented by our own New Dark Ages host Solar and I'm pretty psyched for that it's going to be something to look forward to for October Lust for Life live.

Alan Vega from newly released live recordings from Max's Kansas City from 1980 on the Sacred Bones label and a live version of Jukebox Babe.

From Italy we heard Lodovico Elena and two covers Pink Floyd related.

Hopefully we won't get in trouble with Roger Waters.

And I'm kind of surprised.

gray that you don't you haven't kept up with that it seems like it's definitely like right in your lane like i would listen to all of that back catalog if you haven't anyway uh the other thing i wanted to say was that completely concur sacred bones is a fucking joke um it's a shame when like a cool label like that at least the label that was cool just like completely jumps the shark and goes goes haywire uh whoever's running that shit is just a creepy psycho They have to be.

I want to add a little something to the gut shot conversation where, yeah, like sacred bones, you just want to walk into the room, lay one on him, you know, gut, femur, right in the label, let him bleed out in the room, just slow roasting his entire life and wondering what he did to deserve what's happening.

But then there's also the labels that you want to hold yeller.

Yeah, definitely.

That's something that Jan and I have very separate experiences with because they work at Sacred Bones, right? Which is like much more, you know, sort of folk or like indie.

Jan, pull me up if I'm wrong here.

Now, a lot of people refer to the label as an emo folk label.

So there's a lot of like indie folk, metal, rock.

It's like a weird mix of genres.

Early, early years of Sacred Bones.

That's so cool.

Right now, you're hearing something from their With Open Arms album.

Final Days, their Final Days album as well as their early material was originally released on Sacred Bones and their what is currently their final album with Open Arms was released on Hospital Productions.

And that unfortunately is in tribute to Sean of Cult of Youth, who's the main artist behind that, who unfortunately passed away earlier today.

But after this next track, I'm going to come back, talk about Sean real briefly and as well as play you some, a more vocal heavy track from Cult of Youth.
