Sacramento Zoo

Here are the zoo's newest residents, a brother and sister pair of capybaras.

They arrived yesterday from the Sacramento Zoo, and were born just four months ago.

Capybaras are the world's largest rodents.

They're native to Central and South America.

I think it probably also tells other cats whose territory it is, because we know that male cats will spritz urine on vertical surfaces, probably to remind people that it's their territory and not your territory.

And our third story is about the Sacramento Zoo.

And at the zoo there, they have three new unusual residents, African giant pouched rats.

And these rats are there because of their powerful sense of smell.

They can also ignore other odors that may be used to conceal contraband.

And the rat's small size and their agility make them well-suited to searching cargo at ports, airports, and border crossings.

These three hero rats will serve as animal ambassadors at the Sacramento Zoo, helping visitors learn about their abilities and their role in combating the illegal wildlife trade.

and the zoo is currently developing a new interactive habitat for these very special rats.
