Uh, I think it's a real shame that they had to create a new character to be the treacherous Vulcan lady, when it is really very obvious that at some point in the drafting that was supposed to be Saavik.

Yep.

Uh, would that have been fair to Saavik? Probably not.

Would it have made that character-

But...

One of the younger trainee officers, the character Savik, played by Christy Alley, tries to quote regulations at Kirk, saying like, hey, aren't we supposed to do it by the book doing this? And they ignore her and they just go in.

And it turns out if they had listened to her...

Khan would not have been able to get the better of them like he did, but because Kirk is cocky and blustery and, and just going in, you know, kind of smug, uh, he, Khan gets the better of him.

My Enemy My Ally, yeah.

And of course, there's this great retconning where people say maybe Saavik was the daughter of Spock and the Romulan commander-
