S. Lewis Johnson

And God has given us some gifts that are just so stellar.

I mean, you take some of the greatest expositors, S. Lewis Johnson and men like that, and then MacArthur, obviously, and others who've had such profound impact on preaching.

We view evangelical preaching from those standpoints, and it is a man's local ministry that where years and years of having to interact with leaders and people, forcing you into the lives of individuals, that's where the rub starts to come and whether or not your emphasis is going to truncate your ministry and your preaching and things like that.

And maybe something important to add here is the idea that in the Old Testament – we say this all the time – that knowledge to the – gnosis to the Greeks was the accumulation of information and philosophical soundness of your arguments, etc.
