Ryoga Hibiki

That's what happens when you get gender thrown in, you know? I technically did, like, two half-episodes about Nabiki, but, like, I don't know.

We pretty much covered Ryoga, Shampoo, some guy in my notes called Moose.

I don't know, we'll get to him eventually.

He's kind of a nothing guy.

She'll be a very different character.

But, like, the stories would still make sense.

Like, she would still go out of her way to be Ryoga's wingman that one time.

She would still go on this Karate Kid montage in this filler episode the same way.

And there was one character that was always at the forefront.

Though I'd never watched the original anime, I knew who Ryoga was.

And somehow, Damien Haas fulfilled everything I thought I knew.

Damien comes in hot.

He's funny as hell.

His exasperation at Ranma for forgetting everything, his puppy dog infatuation with Akane, how he goes from big man on campus to puppy dog.

But nothing exemplifies Damien's work best as Ryoga when he's playing off the two Ranmas.

Damien makes the character his own, able to stand on his own two legs against his original predecessor with energy and bravado.
