Your quarterback, quickly, Ryder Burton, and watching Ryder play, I see the hits at field level like you do.

You try to avoid getting your quarterback hit, but at times it's a necessity.

You know, you played the position, you now coach it.

But for Ryder Burton, some of the hits he takes, the poise coach and the accuracy, he's been able to deliver the football at times.

I think back to one, he was creamed at Illinois and he still completed the pass.

What do you attribute that to and how much is that a luxury for you when he has to take those and things that you can design and draw up in your offense?

They barely beat UL Monroe at home, and they could not throw the football at all.

Ryder Burton was 8 for 16, 115 yards, a touchdown at pick, a QBR of 30.5. And as someone who watched more UAB football than just about anybody in the last five years, But before they hired Trent Dilfer, they had an identity.

They bring in Trent Dilfer.

They were soft.

Um, you know, UAB didn't pass it for a whole lot more.

Ryder Burton, although about double, he completed, uh, eight passes on 16 attempts for 115 yards and one touchdown and one interception.

Rodrick Robinson II did run for 114 yards a- on 21 carries.

And former South Alabama Jaguar, and I believe McGill Toolen Hornet, uh, Braylon McReynolds, uh, 16 yards, uh, 16 carries, 75 yards, and a touchdown.

Yeah, I kind of...

I don't know if we're putting some respect on his name, not the quarterback, because we need some more out of Ryder Burton than what we got.

You saw some guys wreaking havoc, and boy, that Ryder Burton kid, I like him.

I mean, he took some shots.

I don't know about the little Giants interception he threw, or he's just begging someone to blow the whistle.

It got them out of their run game, which I think they ran for 193 yards.

It got them out of this run-pass conflict, and you really saw Bobby Howell dial up some pass pressures.

in order to get pressure on Ryder Burton.

And maybe not sack as much as you'd like, but they had a lot of pressures.

What are some, uh, what are some standouts from the, this past weekend in our conference for you?

I think Ryder Burton and UAB looked, looked solid offensively at Illinois.

I watched that game, Josh, and I'm not, I'm not a betting guy, but it is interesting to see the spreads, and they actually did cover, uh, the spread at, at Illinois.

Um, not necessarily in the camp to put UAB as a dark horse in the American, but, but, you know, offensively they look like, um, you know, they, they could at least be an interesting team and, and give the better teams in the conference a scare, um, potentially, you know, going into those matchups.
