And the movie that I'm going to be talking about today might not technically be considered a true crime movie, but it is The Ryan White Story.

And I know that this movie affected a lot of us that watched it, so I wanted to talk about The Ryan White Story today.

It was very emotional.

It was-- It broke my heart watching this film, but it also gave you this like inspired feeling by the end of the film.

You know if you've seen The Ryan White Story, the movie ends with the song I'm Still Standing by Elton John.

The day Rock Hudson died in 1985, Congress provided $190 million in funding for AIDS research.

But the real change in how the US government started to deal with the AIDS epidemic came when a 15-year-old middle school student from Indiana named Ryan White was diagnosed with AIDS.

Ryan suffered from hemophilia, which is an illness that causes immense bleeding.

Like if he scraped a knee, he could bleed to death.

And it's impossible not to remember this.

13-year-old Ryan White, a hemophiliac who contracted HIV through contaminated blood products, became a national symbol of the AIDS discrimination after his Indiana school attempted to prevent him from attending classes.

LiveAid was held simultaneously at Wembley Stadium in London and JFK Stadium in Philadelphia on July 13th.

More than 75 acts participated.

He was from Kokomo, Indiana, which I remember just because of the Ryan White story, which you can Google that later if you want.

And nice guy.

He did our high school ball, but he was doing – So someone wanted to, I guess, have their kids, you know, it was like six-year-old peewee football.

It, um, it was released on World AIDS Day.

It was a song he wrote for his good friend Ryan White, who was a young man who passed away of AIDS in the early '90s, and his story was very well-known in North America because-

Secretary of State Frank LaRose, a Republican, said he would immediately appeal.

In a lawsuit brought on behalf of the Ohio Alliance of Retired Americans and the progressive group Red, White, and Blue by the Democratic-aligned Elias Law Group, U.S. District Court Judge Solomon Oliver Jr. in Cleveland ruled that the requirement appears to conflict with the National Voter Registration Act, which he said takes precedence.

His injunction suspends the practice of requiring such documentation ahead of the October 5th registration deadline for this fall's midterm elections.

It comes as President Donald Trump pushes Congress to pass a bill that would, among other election changes, require documentary proof of citizenship to register to vote.

In 1980, the FBI inadvertently detonated a bomb planted at Harvey's Resort Hotel in Stateline, Nevada, while attempting to disarm it.

The hotel had been evacuated and no injuries were reported, but the blast caused significant damage.

In 1985, 13-year-old AIDS patient Ryan White began attending classes at Western Middle School in Kokomo, Indiana via telephone hookup at his home.

School officials had barred White from attending classes in person due to his illness.
