And Ryan Ward gets the DFA because of it.

I'm happy for Wardo to finally get an opportunity maybe.

In order to get him on the 40-man roster, the Dodgers had to make another move designated for assignment.

was Ryan Ward today.

He is in AAA with Oklahoma City, but he is on the 40-man roster, and the Dodgers took him off today in what should be an interesting move.

I wouldn't be surprised if Ward gets picked up by somebody pretty quickly.

This year he's had some arm issues and really wasn't himself.

He's a free agent at the end of the year, so the Dodgers took a flyer that he could help him in the bullpen, and he is active for tonight's game and a very intriguing arm that if he's back to that all-star level, what a weapon the Dodgers have found in Chris Bubich as he comes out of the bullpen starting tonight.

To make room for Chris Bubich, the Dodgers have DFA'd Ryan Ward, so Ward no longer on the 40-man roster.

He is free to be claimed by any team out there, so...

It was kind of funny.

The first thing I thought of, I don't know why, and I posted this from the Toolset account, where when they probably got the call and jumped over AAA, just like, you know, James Tibbs and, you know, all the guys in AAA, Zach Earhart, Ryan Ward, they're like, Hey, you know, like what, what the hell we got, we got jumped over, even though we're having pretty good seasons here as well.

But this shows you like where guys like Tibbs and Ward and Earhart, who are having really good seasons, get leapfrogged by even better prospects in the systems, endless, endless riches here for the Dodgers.

But, you know, quickly before we move on to the next player here, You mentioned the whiff avoidance here.

Mostly in that...

I mean, I guess you can call up Ryan Ward, um, ahead of, like, I don't know where Oklahoma City is at.

I think they're in the playoffs.

So get rid of Lu- they lose another bat or they lose a big bat there, uh, for, for the, the Comets.

Not that that's important to the organization, but you get Ryan Ward up, he could play some first base, something like that, just to kind of let Freddy rest.

And yeah, this, where- where I could fully get on board with people being frustrated with a game like this is that it is a loss, and it, it just lets that, that potential creep into the picture that they don't end up with that first round bye.

Because this team is beat up enough where they really, really badly need it.

Uh, one, James Tibbs III has played some first base this year.

I know Corey Seager did play in Triple-A, but that was a long time ago, pre-2013, and now they skip DePaula over Triple-A.

Not only over Triple-A, but over James Tibbs and Ryan Ward and Zach Erhard, some older, more experienced outfielders who are hitting in Triple-A.

And instead they say, "You know what? Let's get the guy who's actually our top prospect, who's 21 years old, and has been about as polished of a minor league hitter that we've seen in, in quite some time." Certainly for the Dodgers since Corey Seager.

And I think a good way to kinda sum up why DePaula is special and, and his offensive upside, if you pull up a top prospect list, pick your top 100 prospect list, and you look at the top 20-

Right.

Obviously, Ryan Ward's been doing that for 10 years.

Yeah.

But James Tibbs, right? There's a couple other guys, and yet they go to De Paula.

And right now, I don't think Alex Call is a better alternative.

I don't even think Ryan Ward is a better alternative.

You know, and so it's I don't know.

Alex Cole is not a better alternative, but also, like, he puts up good at-bats.
