Tristan Stubbs had a poor game.

And then from there it was always gonna be tough.

And, and Rickelton out of nick.

You know, a bit of a walking wicket at the top of the order.

That puts pressure on the rest of the, of, of the, of the lineup.

They'll have some more miles in the leg, so hopefully, so hopefully, um, Mulder and, and Jansen can hold a, a tighter line.

And with the bat, they just have to apply themselves.

I think if you go through all twenty wickets, I'd be surprised if seventeen of them were not a consequence of South Africans getting themselves out, either with, with passive shots like Stubbs and, and Bavuma in the second dig, or just some pretty bad shots like the one Verena played or, or, or the one Rickelton played.

So, you know, like I said, the, the real positive is that they have the c-- they have the, the power to turn things around.

Tactically, I thought Australia were excellent.

You know, the bouncer to Rickelton early on, using the surface.

They'd learnt from watching Nortje earlier in the day.

It's starting to get a bit up and down.

And it wasn't so much about unsettling his footwork because they've just been...

They've had a propensity to play the short ball.

Five dismissals to short balls in South Africa, and then another one yesterday with Rickelton getting out.

They just haven't been able to control themselves, and as a result, they paid the price.

But they're the best.

Nick Maddinson, in fact, hit a four off the first ball of the innings and another four in that same over, so that was really nice.

Um, and off Wayan Mulder, Nick Maddinson just clipped one off his pads and Ryan Rickelton's lost it in the air, so that was quite a funny moment.

Um, and yeah, that, that was a great start for the Aussies' second innings.

They were zero for 33, so yeah, I'm quite happy with that start.

... just look to block and defend.

And, you know, I thought Rickelton and, and Markram came out and, and looked to take the singles, showed good intent, uh, played a lot off the back foot, but weren't just looking to leave the ball.

And I think that's the right way to go about it.

But having said that, you know, the way Tristan Stubbs gets out there, if the ball holds in the wicket a little bit, but that's a half-hearted shot.

And, uh, yeah, the wicket of David Benning in LBW just kept a little bit low, and that will really give the Australians a lot of confidence heading into tomorrow.

He had Ryan Rickelton caught, um, by Carey.

He-- Rickelton was trying to play a pull shot, and I think the, the pace and bounce of Hazlewood's bouncer just surprised him.

Got a little, uh, top edge and he was out.
