But even just the opportunity for Harrington to get a few practices with names like that, Pike, that's, that's pretty significant in terms of what the Flames see in their second round pick.

Yeah, I mean, he's, he's a, a late birthday, so he's one of the older guys in this year's draft class.

He's a little bit more physically mature.

Uh, and the nice thing is he uses it.

He's, he's got, I would say he's kind of a, a, a chameleon in the sense that, you know, uh, our, our, our pal Kent Wilson, uh, has used the term functional toughness, uh, to describe players, uh, who can combine a bit of what Brian Burke would call truculence with some high-end skill.

'Cause it's, if you're, t- typically, physical, rugged players don't have a lot of skill, and sometimes they have a tendency to drag skilled line mates down just because they might not have the, the chops to keep up with them.

Harrington is not that kind of player.

Like, all of a sudden, Brustevik, I, I think he's in tough, Pike.

Mm-hmm.

And it was, it was one of those things where, you know, part of it was you, you didn't really have an identity for the power play.

Uh, you know, I, I wrote a piece on, on the site, uh, recently about how good the penalty kill was last year.

And Michael Backlund is the, the ace of the penalty kill, has been the ace of the penalty kill for the better part of a decade, decade and a half.

And so the penalty kill has a sh- clear identity.

You know how it's gonna look more or less.

But they don't have that in the power play yet, and I think they're sort of might be waiting for one of these young guys, whether it's Perekh, Gruden.

So Ryan, looking at Craig Conroy, what's his, what's the number one, uh, thing that he needs to accomplish this season?

So having said that, um, in your opinion, Ryan, how is Craig Conroy and Jarome Iginla's plan, uh, working out right now down in Calgary as they look to become a, a playoff team again?

Well, I'll say this.

I mean, I, I've been, you know, we've, we just passed the, the third-year anniversary of, uh, Craig, uh, becoming GM and, you know, I, I was looking back at the, the press conference that he gave us, uh, his, the first day on the job, and give the man some credit.

He's, he did, [laughs] he's done exactly what he said he was gonna do, uh, you know, bringing, you know, emphasizing the kids, having a youth movement.

Uh, you know, virtually every time he's had the opportunity to either double down, uh, on a, a veteran group or Find ways to, to flip guys for assets and also, you know, put some of these veteran guys who are departing in pretty nice positions for their careers too.

He's managed to, to do it.

I mean, you know, the Blake Coleman trade [laughs] might be a great example of that where, you know, they, they get a, a quality individual in, in, uh, Jake Middleton back, and they get three draft picks, and they get, uh, [laughs] Blake Coleman in a pretty good spot if you wanna win a- another Stanley Cup.

Ryan, what's Jonathan Huberdeau to this team now?
