Ryan Mcguffey

Welcome to the white Sox recap podcast.

I am Ryan McGuffey after a little hiatus needed to give the boys a week off after our well nightly production of the white Sox recap podcast during the post season, but it's time to fire it back up.

You know why the world series it's almost over.

I am Ryan McGuffey.

The Milwaukee brewers are going to win the world series.

Yes.

Brian Anderson is with me.

Jonathan hood is with me.

Maybe.

Ryan McGuffey was not happy that I made that joke.

And it was like, why are we talking about this? And hey, you know, those guys were correct.

I mean, that was a little bit of a joke.

So whether your workday is busy or slow, thank you for checking us out.

But...

When we look at the offseason, kind of taking in the whole coaching stuff that we just talked about, the culture, and then now the actual roster moves, how good of a job did Chris Getz do? He told Ryan McGuffey and David Kaplan before the year that they were no longer rebuilding that they were building.

Did he do a good enough job in building?

[upbeat music] Welcome to the White Sox Recap Podcast.

I am Ryan McGuffey.

Well, we've had some time to take a deep breath after the White Sox were eliminated over the weekend by the Cleveland Guardians in the ALDS.

While it pains to watch the Guardians do their thing an inch closer towards actually making the World Series, and we'll see if that happens, it's time to reflect on what was the 2026 Chicago White Sox.

We're gonna kinda cap off season two of the podcast as we start to think about what season three looks like at the end of the World Series, and a, i- in the short sprint to D- uh, December 1st, 'cause that's what it's gonna be.

It's gonna be a sprint, and I wouldn't be surprised if the White Sox make some additions, uh, along, uh, leading up to December 1st.

Jonathan Hood, Brian Anderson, I'm Ryan McGuffey.

So I think that's sort of the emotion or sentiment I have as I sit here today is just it feels like we let an opportunity slip away.

That was Jed Hoyer, October 2nd, in his season-ending media conference that I attended, that Gordon attended, that Ryan McGuffey, our co-founder, attended.

And Jed had to wear it.

His team fell far short of expectations of what that talent and what that season looked like it could be set up for.

Up 2-0 in the series and lose to the Cleveland Guardians by the score of 2-0.

And Ryan McGuffey right now is going to get some sound for us.

He'll be with us momentarily in the postgame.

But, B.A., this was tough.

Well, here's the thing.

We should talk about that briefly.

So it comes to find out that Brian Anderson, 2005 World Series champion, Jonathan Hood, White Sox fan since 1978, Ryan McGuffey, longtime fan since the 80s.

had more of a feeling for this White Sox team and thought that the White Sox could go much farther than they did than Chris gets.

What's up, everybody? It's Ryan McGuffey.

This is the White Sox recap podcast coming to you from right field where the White Sox have lost game four, nine to five, and the Cleveland Guardians have tied this series up at two games apiece, a win or go home scenario now on Saturday back in Cleveland.

There's a lot to unpack here, a lot.
