And honestly, I think after what we've seen of recently and lately, and again, we'll talk about the Ryan Leonard extension, but I think he deserves it.

And it's kind of, it's strange to say, like we're in a new day and age where the new 10 million was the 6 million five years ago.

yeah and I think this is a little bit where contracts have kind of shifted that's a good point where guys are getting paid for projection and potential this is like something that's really skilled like even just recently Ryan Leonard just signed the other day he's getting 80 schmil and he's played 84 games in the show It's like, for that, and I get it, he was signing right before the end of the eight-year contract kind of window before the new CBA kicked in.

There's a bit of that.

But it's kind of like, to give a guy that much money, you're really banking on hitting something like that.

A bunch of a flux up there in Columbus.

Um, we didn't, there were, yeah, there were, there were a bunch of eight year contracts right before the CBA changed over.

Like Ryan Leonard got one, like, like a bunch of like a bunch of guys, like younger guys, teams just locked up for eight years.

Yeah.

So I like that, that, uh, go big or go home kind of mentality, right? You know, if the guy doesn't pan out in a few years, you can always buy him out.

On today's show, the Caps finally have a power play with too many weapons, and Carberry just revealed how he plans to use them.

Next up, the Capitals have signed forward Ryan Leonard to an eight-year, $10.5 million AAV contract, and that deal begins in 27-28.

I believe they said this was the highest AAV contract for a player who has not played 100 games.

I was a little surprised they jumped up with that.

So maybe Bull Jacks just didn't want to come on to have to talk about his team there with Wierenski and Marchenko and Fantilli, a bunch of a flux up there in Columbus.
