Well, you look at it, I mean, Reigns is the defending state champion, so they've earned that, and there's nothing they've done the first two games, Hayes, that has made me sway that decision.

Close game over Oak Leaf, a big victory over Baldwin, obviously Reigns and Ed White tonight, probably the game of the night, maybe one of the games of the state of Florida here in week three.

I had Mandarin week, and that number two because of what they've done.

I mean, they have destroyed their first two competitors in the last week in a rivalry game over Atlantic Coast.

Boy, I was a beating 50 to nothing.

And then you look at Lake City, Columbia, a little bit outside our area.

They come up one year, and they plummet back down to earth the next, and they understand that.

It looks like it's evened out a little bit, but the defense has got that chip, and they want to prove that that's, they want to replicate that number one run defense from 2025.

Yeah, a couple of thoughts on the defense.

I do think there's a battle between Ventrell Miller and Branson Combs to replace Devin Lloyd.

If you'll remember, I mean, last year this time, we thought Ventrell Miller might win that job from Devin Lloyd.

They were listed as or on the depth chart, Devin Lloyd or Ventrell Miller.

Obviously, Devin Lloyd won the job, and the rest is history.

He had a great year and a second-team All-Pro and got paid.

But how do you see the division playing out? I don't want to discount the Titans and the Colts just yet, but you kind of think that it's going to be another head-to-head tussle between the Texans and the Jaguars down the line.

Apparently, Madden last year had the Jaguars as Team 18 of 32.

Then they win 13 games, win a division title.

This year, apparently, they have them Team 28 out of 32.

Really? How do they fall 10 spots after winning 13 games last year?

And certainly in coverage today, they were making a difference.

It's going to be really tough to make this year's roster as a rookie undrafted free agent.

Yeah, there's no doubt.

I mean, B.J. Green and Strigow made the 53, and you could even want Branson Combs in.

He was an undrafted free agent that made the practice squad, then got elevated, and obviously now he's competing for a starting spot.

But in no way is there going to be two or even three guys that are undrafted going to make this roster.

As I told you last week, I got to 49 of the 53 in about 15 minutes.

It's a top-heavy roster with a lot of depth.

What did you make of it?

So if you do pick CMC in the third or the fourth pick or anything like that, and he does get hurt, doesn't work out, There's slim pickings if you want to go the hero or beast strategy there for your second pick.

No, it's a fair point, but I think you could also say he's got a history of injuries.

He's on the older side, but every running back is a high ankle sprain away from you being in trouble.

Jameer Gibbs is a high ankle sprain away from you being in trouble.

If you're in a 12-team serpentine draft, you take Gibbs number one, he goes out there opening weekend and gets turf toe and is out for a month, well, then you're in trouble.

So, Some guys have histories of it, some guys don't.

I get the history with Christian McCaffrey, but I love the PPR standpoint for Christian McCaffrey.

lead them in catches and yardage.

Where do you stand on that?

Yeah, ETN got paid in a big way by New Orleans.

And he got to go home.

He's from Louisiana.

But when New Orleans got to the $13, $13.5 million a year mark, that priced Jacksonville out.

They were never going to go near that with Travis ETN.

And they certainly wish him the best.

What needs to be the bare minimum of what he provides Jacksonville in general?

Do you think that's fair? Yeah, I think that's

fair.

Newton was not the player here that he was in Cleveland.

And again, you get traded midseason.

Who really knows how you're going to react to that? Was it an issue with the system? I think all those are absolutely plausible, absolutely fair.

I just know that he wasn't very good for the Jaguars in their secondary.

So again, I don't think there was a real temptation to resign him when he hit free agency.

Realistically, what do you think the Jaguars do their first six weeks of the season?

Is it just you and the wife or are you bringing the young ones?

No, it's me and the wife, another couple, and their parents.

So there's six of us total.

And the people we're going with have never been to Las Vegas, so we're going to kind of be their tour guide.

This will be our fourth time going.

So we've done the gambling thing, which we will.

We'll go to the casino.
