Anders JorstadHOST
Ryan Flaherty, the Cubs bench coach.

That's pulling a young guy from a good organization, also a recent former player.
Anders JorstadHOST
And then Daniel Descalso, kind of the same kind of mold there, but with the Cardinals.
Brett TaylorHOST

Quentin Berry and, uh, Ryan Flaherty-
Brett TaylorHOST

Connor NewcombHOST
And they do have some coaches.
Connor NewcombHOST
Our old buddy Ryan Flaherty is their bench coach, and Quinton Berry, who played for the Orioles briefly in 2014, is the first base coach for the Cubs as well.
Connor NewcombHOST
Now, they won fairly recently.
Connor NewcombHOST
It's only been 10 years since they broke the curse, but it is a very different team now than it was back in 2016.
Taylor McGregorGUEST
And, like, for instance, Andy Green, who's now the manager of the Mets, like, he reached out to me when he saw the announcement.
Taylor McGregorGUEST
And, like, Ryan Flaherty, I've gotten to know really well during his time as the Cubs bench coach.
Taylor McGregorGUEST

Jon HeymanHOST
And I, I do think it needs to be somebody with experience.
Jon HeymanHOST
I mean, I like Ryan Flaherty, a Cubs bench coach.
Jon HeymanHOST
I, I don't think you can put somebody who has v- no Major League managing experience in that job.
Jon HeymanHOST
I, it's too difficult a job.
Bo ChisholmHOST
Well, I actually don't know the second guy if he played.
Bo ChisholmHOST
But Ryan Flaherty, if you've heard of the name Ryan Flaherty, if you remember the player, Ryan Flaherty.
Rick ClarkHOST
former catcher no that's jack
Bo ChisholmHOST

Bo ChisholmHOST
He's a, I believe he is a bench coach for the White Sox right now, but he's been spent time with the Brewers.
Bo ChisholmHOST
That's kind of where he kind of, you know, he was with the major league coaching staff since 2020 for the Brewers kind of made his way up through the Brewers and then eventually joined the White Sox as the bench coach under Will Venable.
Bo ChisholmHOST
