meddled the first year that they had that you know and the rumor was the talk at the time was is that they were going i didn't have any interest in swimming i'm not a strong swimmer i didn't have any interest in that but the rumor at the time was is that they were going to introduce the duathlon so run bike run and i was like yeah that's in my wheelhouse i've always been a little bit a little bit thicker in terms of of a runner always on the strength side of the the legs um there was a stretch down there in alamosa where the professional group that was down there running and the college athletes we would show up when we run up you heard me talking about it very early on in our conversation but where we would run up rock creek so we would start it you know right around 8 000 feet we'd end up around 13 000 feet at the end of that run and there was a point where we would just start showing up and it became a bragging rights thing where we would show up with racing flats and it was no longer a training run and it was it was who could make it to the top first.

And there was a long stretch for a couple of years there where I didn't lose that.
