So the deal was I was

going to come live with them, rent free, be inspired by the beach, help her turn a photography studio into a branding firm, and then take my portfolio work up to LA.

Well, when you know that company turns into our first company, we started as four people out of a house and we grew it to about 90 people.

And when you're, you know, you know, from your Arizona days to San Diego is not New York.

It's not L.A. And I felt like we were big for San Diego, but we were kind of in like we were small for everywhere else.

Tennis no man's land is like the best way I can describe it.

And so I was looking for a way to make it easier for when a client fell in love with our work.

What percentage of time do you spend doing what you love? And what can you do differently to increase that percentage?

kids, there's something on fire, like what's going on? And they're like, nothing in here.

And we took a couple steps off the porch and ended up, I heard kind of like a crashing noise and popped my head around the corner and right across the street I saw flames in the backyard.

My first instinct was like, okay, somebody's having a bonfire, but that hit looked way too close to the house to see that.

And the neighbor I was talking to, she's like immediately recognized fire, fire.

We both ran, ran across the street, ran over there.

she started calling for her neighbors by name and opened up their, we got right on the side of the house there.

Wow.

He served two terms from 2019 until 2022, and the 13th is a, is a new district, isn't it, Mr. Berman?

Yeah.

Uh, because of the independent redistricting commission and some lawsuits, uh, based on how they drew lines out of Detroit, uh, this is a brand new district.

Uh, the Detroit, Metro Detroit area got a few new districts.

This is one of them.

It's, uh, all of So- Southwest Oakland County, so it has, uh, all of West Bloomfield, Commerce Township, Wolverine Lake, Wixom, Walled Lake, Sylvan Lake, Orchard Lake, Keego Harbor, Southern Waterford, Northern Novi, South Lyon, Lyon Township, Milford.

Mm.

What happened?

Yeah, you know what? It's one of those things where it happens to be, especially in this big district, where, all right, where do you choose to walk that day, you know, has an effect.

And this was definitely one of those right place, right time situations.

I was over by the lakes, actually by Upper Straits Lake, and just finished – Just finished a street and decided I had a little bit more time.

It was actually my 21st anniversary that day, and my wife was waiting for me to come home for us to go celebrate, go out to dinner.

I'm like, hey, I have a little bit of time before reservations, before I have to get back.

And the first house down the next street, it was a good conversation with the homeowner.

So this is one of those right place and the right time.

This big district I'm running for, Southwest Oakland County, 15 different communities, from Milford and South Lyon through, throughout West Bloomfield.

I was in the lakes area and, uh, out doing a street, and I'm like, "I have some more time," and went to a house and, and this is an instance of having a very good conversation, standing out on the porch, nothing out of the unusual, until we, we smelled some smoke.

Something burning i- is what it was, and the homeowner is like, "Uh, excuse me for a sec," and had to yell inside, like, "Kids, is, there's something on fire.

Like, what's going on?" And, uh, they're like, "No- nothing in here." And we took a couple steps off the porch and, uh, ended up...

Hmm.

You actually have to have it alongside with you and take it with you across whatever bridge you're trying to cross.

Correct.

Yeah.

Another way to look at it and fear, fear mountain.

Right.

That's all it is.

Like you've got a, if you've, if you've, there's something you want to do, you want to climb that mountain.

And so what would you suggest for someone like Silvio? Would it be to start taking inventory of some of those fears? Would it be like, hey, let's be real about what's going on here?
