Russian roulette

Anybody that goes to jail and goes to jail for a long time doesn't want to be in jail, okay? Was probably hoping they didn't go to jail.

So common sense would tell you that if they could appeal and roll the dice, and in the case with Tammy Sitch, play Russian roulette, of course they're going to do it.

That's what she's doing.

She's appealing her plea deal.

And she didn't check off that box either.

So there's a lot of stupid technical stuff that she didn't do.

But basically what's happening now is she's playing Russian roulette with the court.

She thinks that her case could be retried because she feels that the medical, because remember, she agreed to a plea deal.

And oh, my God.

He has mind controlled Mulder to sit down and they're going to play a little game that I know as Russian roulette.

But that is given here with a Japanese warrior twist.

He says he doesn't fear his death.

What?

Yeah, that's like Russian roulette.

Yeah.

How was that? That's actually the same thing to me.

Yes.

Like, oh, I like to play Russian Roulette for the thrill.

Ew.

Fucking freak.

Yes.

Or teenagers dropping heavy concrete blocks off a highway overpass into oncoming traffic below or playing Russian roulette.

Exactly.

In none of those scenarios is the defendant targeting a specific individual with the intent to end their life.

Play continues until a player either forfeits or blows their brains out.

this is russian roulette a deadly game of chance with a dark allure which through countless portrayals in popular culture has become known as the pastime of the unhinged of the desperate or those with nothing left to live for in reality however the majority of the victims of russian roulette have been ordinary people whose attempts to recreate what they have seen in films or television ultimately ended in tragedy.

But where did the idea of Russian roulette come from in the first place? And how many people have actually played this most dangerous of games? The first written description of something resembling Russian roulette comes from The Fatalist, the final chapter of Russian author Mikhail Lermontov's 1840 novel A Hero of Our Time.

In the chapter, the protagonist of the novel, Peturin, tells the story of Lieutenant Volekh, a Cossack officer who becomes embroiled in a debate about fate and destiny.

Believing that a man's death is predestined and cannot be changed, Volekh pulls a random pistol off of the wall, primes the pan, places it against his head, and pulls the trigger.

But when Volekh re-primes the weapon and aims it at the wall, this time it goes off.

Mere hours later, Volek's fatalism is vindicated when he is cut down by a drunken, saber-wielding soldier chasing after an escaped pig.

The more familiar form of Russian roulette would have to await the development of the modern cartridge-firing revolver.
