Russian Imperial Stout

Now that we're reading into the metrics...

Best imperial stout.

They actually do style by style.

They said there's 50 styles.

bottles and cans.

Ooh, what did I got here? I got a Fremont Cambios Cuvée.

It's a 2023 barrel-aged Imperial Stout.

I've got Pillow Talk.

and offers harbour views where you can sip on their beers.

I couldn't find a list on their website of beers and things, but one of their social photos showed a list of Pale Ale, Pilsner, Pink Cider, IPA, and Pawn's Milk Imperial Stout, which is an interesting name for a beer.

So, good mix of styles.

And their branding tagline is, it's good shit.

It's the compassionate, the response, the what do I need right now? And that what do I need right now could be.

It could be a 16% Imperial Stout because beer is one of my special interests.

So there's something really nourishing for me in engaging that.

It could be spending time with my Lego.

So I have a beer community that I'm part of.

I am part of a, we call ourselves the Ladies of Darkness.

We're an inclusive dark beer drinking group of, yeah, mostly women, but we're open to all folks who like to go and drink really strong Imperial Stout and have fun.

Sometimes some people be a little bit surprised by the drinks that we're drinking.

They made some fun stuff back then.

Pulsionella was a fantastic Imperial Stout.

Yes.

They were so, like Strongman, the Coffee Milk Stout.

But I don't think there's anything wrong with a lot of 4% or 5% beers at festivals because there's people there drinking for a long time.

I don't think you want too many 10% Imperial Stouts.

We do want a few, but not too many.

It's a very short event if it's just 10%.

Angel's Envy is out with its latest distillery series bourbon.

It's finished in a combination of Imperial Stout and Amurana casks and is bottled at 50% ABV.

The nose has touches of cinnamon, dried flowers, and cocoa.

The taste has notes of ground cinnamon, apples, chocolate, vanilla, and a hint of orange, while the finish has touches of tree fruits, chocolate, and a hint of marzipan.

And I love the name.

It's my favorite name for any Russian imperial stout.

So anyways, going back to the beer, how did they decide that this.

It's a

Russian Imperial Stout and Tunguska is in Siberia.

Right.

This is from a bottle shop, not the actual brewery.

This is Tripping Animals Stay Bullish, an imperial stout conditioned with coffee, Madagascar vanilla, and cacao nibs.

This is good.

It is 10%.

It's a 12 ounce can.

If you just want a chocolate vanilla imperial stout, it is right there for you.

I'm not picking up anything wrong with it.

I have no issues with it.

But I think like every new brewer, I was interested in making a big AVE beer that had a lot of flavor and a lot of hops and kind of put everyone back in their seat.

And so we put together something that was probably closer to an Imperial Stout than a Black IPA by most definitions.

But it was the first thing that I really felt like invested in, in terms of the outcome and the recipe that we were putting together and the hop choices and that kind of stuff.

So it was a lot of fun.
