Russell Poole

He was a filmmaker called Nick Broomfield.

But the whole thing in here basically is that there was an LAPD officer named Russell Poole.

And he was investigating the two backing Biggie murders.

And just when he was after getting enough information where he could progress in the investigation, that the LAPD pulled him off the case.

Um, and I interviewed the young Lord activists who were the kind of Latino version of the black Panthers who mentored, uh, King tone, who was the leader, um, and, uh, of the, uh, young Lord of the, uh, you know, Latin Kings, and just covered that and that, you know, that activism.

Now that was, you know, I got loads of court documents, loads of government documents on that case, and to show, including the police officer, Detective Russell Poole, who was assigned to the Biggie Smalls murder, And he comes out after being assigned to that and said that he came to find that his fellow police officers who were at all levels of death row, dozens and dozens at all levels of death row records, and he says this in the film Kurt and Courtney, killed Biggie in order to divert the attention from their murder of Tupac Shakur.

And he didn't know why, but that's what he came to find in his investigation.

So, of course, the police demoted him and he was forced to resign in order to get his information out.

And when he went to his superiors and said, what are my fellow police officers doing at all levels of death row records? He said they told him you can call them troubleshooters or covert agents.

And so, yeah, that was pretty clear what was going on there.

And sadly, I showed in my most recent version of my book, The FBI Warned Tupac Shakur's State Repression of Black Leaders, that Russell Poole was likely murdered when he was giving new evidence on the actual shooter of Tupac to the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department.
