Russell Johnson

We have a problem with it because it's called a poverty mentality.

Uh, there's a, there's a, um, a group of people that's, uh, uh, Russell Johnson has just raised, well, he's raising $55 million for his building, the building program.

They've raised $40 million on Mother's Day in one Sunday, $40 million.

And a few thousand people go to the church.

We're supposed to just get on board with what's next.

And I'm going to tell you something, I'm a big, giant fan of Russell Johnson.

We pray for him.

We're excited for Pursuit.

So I went.

That's where I met Russell Johnson.

He came to the meeting that night.

I'd never met him before.

The king shall reign forever and ever.

After a few more songs, Pastor Russell Johnson takes the stage, wearing a God Save America t-shirt.

We find ourselves standing on the National Mall, on the precipice of what will be the most hotly contested election of our lifetime, still with the simple belief, Johnson begins, that if the people of God will stand in worship and in prayer, that God would partner with their obedience for the writing of the history of nations.

Then he adds, let me remind you, friend, that the kingdom of God is not a democracy.

On Saturday, the worship warfare began with the throngs of worship warriors gathered in front of the steps of the Lincoln Memorial and chanting, Step by step, step by step, step by step we're taking ground.

Then they beat their drums while raising their flags and shofars and began a Jesus march to the front gates of the White House.

At the grand finale on the National Mall later that evening, Pastor Russell Johnson said this, Let me remind you that one believer who stands with God is in the majority.

I am still foolish enough to believe that when men and women add their faith together in prayer, there is a God in heaven who responds to the agreement of his people on earth.

He's the pastor of Pursuit.

This is Pastor Reverend Russell Johnson, everybody.

Hey.

How are you, man of God?

[laughs]

... with Tom Cruise.

I can't belie- quoting Tom Cruise with Russell Johnson's so funny.

And it's like, Tom Cruise, you know, he's 64 years old, and he's a different guy.

And I'm about to pull out of the city.

And as I'm pulling out of the city, I get a call from my friend, Russell Johnson.

He said, hey, I just had a dream that you're standing on the map of Fort Worth.

Does that mean anything to you? I said, oh my goodness, no way.

How do you know? It has a presence like the Holy Spirit.

It has a voice like the Holy Spirit.

I love saying this to my friends as I'm teaching them on the spirit of fear.

I'll say something like, how many have heard the spirit of fear talk to you before? How many have heard that intimidation, that fear, you'll never be used by God? Don't step out in faith.
