I remember sitting in the North Pier Pavilion Theatre with my mum, my dad and my younger brother watching the great Saturday night TV acts of the time.

Cannon and Ball, Russ Abbott and others whose faces lit up living rooms across the country every weekend.

Seeing them on that stage made Blackpool feel like the centre of the world.

Those moments have stayed with me ever since, woven into the way that I think of this town.
