When you guys all talk about South Shore, what areas are you talking about when you say South Shore?

It's Ruskin, and then somebody decided if you call it South Shore, you can jack up the home on, you know, the— Real estate by 10% or 15%.

And I said, well, am I considered south shore because I'm really south.

they call it Hillsboro College has the south shore campus in Ruskin.

And it's on Shell Point Road, which is where Bahia Beach is if you go to the west.

until Matthew Terry cut a hole that would drain it all out.

Described as having a heart like no other and as being a friendly ray of sunshine, Kay was a third grade math and science teacher in Ruskin, Florida.

Kay and Matt had known each other for a long time.

They were both from the Lansing, Michigan area and had dated in the late 90s, early 2000s.

Then they were opening a second campus where they have opened a second campus.

in Ruskin, Florida, where they were doing a lot of health professional degrees.

So like Doctor of Physical Therapy, Doctor of Occupational Therapy, Masters of Athletic Training.

I think PAs were there as well.

And they're like, it's an Erie.

And I was like, okay.

So I went all the way down and I interviewed in Ruskin, but I ended up going to their, um, Erie campus, which in the grand scheme of things, moving across the state was a whole heck of a lot easier than moving across multiple states.

For sure.

Well, if you can't beat 'em, if you can't beat 'em, why not join 'em?

Well, they actually did try, uh, down in, uh, the Apollo Beach, uh, Ruskin area.

They were gonna do it-

Well, it seems like Disney-

... you know, but probably they can't.

That's why they tried to do the casino boat, and that's why they were gonna do it down off of Ruskin because that means you would have to have a Native American in Florida to get involved, and that means that Disney would have to partner with a Native American if they do a casino boat, which they were gonna do with all this property they owned in Ruskin.

Then they don't have to get anyone involved, and it's a Disney cruise ship.

What, what part of Florida were you?

So we lived, for a year, we lived just north of Orlando in Sanford, Florida, and then we moved over to a place called Apollo Beach, which was near Ruskin, uh, on the east side of the Tampa Bay.

Oh, okay.

So we were right, we were about a mile from the bay.

... we've actually grown into, we are the South Shore Walk to End Alzheimer's, and we try really hard to increase that footprint every year.

The South Shore is Ruskin, and Apollo Beach, and Gibsonton, and Riverview, and Wimauma, and we really embrace anyone who wants to come to this walk.

And what is the, um, parameters? What do people have to do to participate? I mean, other than show up.

I mean ...

And just come out and have a good time with us.

Is, is it Ruskin?

When I was in Florida, it used to drive me nuts because I go to the supermarket and I get tomatoes from South America and lettuce from Mexico.

And down in Ruskin, they grow the damn

stuff.

You know, and I kind of, so somebody, I had a friend

from UK

who told me, he said, well, you know, your Ruskin tomatoes and your Ruskin lettuce, they were shipping that over to England because that's what we were buying.
