RuneScape 3

Yeah.

Like, I don't know where, what happened to RuneScape 2, but RuneScape 3 is the current iteration of RuneScape.

RuneScape 2 is what we would call R- old school RuneScape.

That was the most popular version.

I thought that was RuneScape 1, if I'm honest with you, but I, I don't know.

No, I thought RuneScape 2's still out.

RuneScape 3 is OSRS.

Oh, is it? No.

They have a, they have like a news or like a blog there.

And so this is RuneScape Reignited, and it is a fresh, a new fresh start game mode launching inside the RuneScape 3 client.

And it is launching soon, December 2nd, 2026.

It allows players to start completely over from level one on separate locked servers featuring an entirely fresh economy, separate grand exchange, and its own high scores leaderboard.

So kind of an interesting thing there.

So if you're itching to like... play, I guess, the modern RuneScape experience, but as this remastered and restart, I'll call it, then it's coming soon.

Get your RuneScape 3 clients warmed up there.

But if that's not enough, because you might be like, that's not the biggest announcement, and it wasn't, RuneScape 4...

Have you gone into RuneScape 3 and done all the smithing mechanics in there?

A tiny bit.

I do agree.

It, I despise smithing in RuneScape 3.

Giant's Foundry does a similar thing with like the plus two.

They'll have, like, a computer s- set up station where you can try out, like, Dragon Wild, like, all these different things, um, Dragon Wilds and stuff, which is another thing too.

Like, it's really cool that the RuneScap- I mean, it's only one other game, but Dragon Wilds feels like such a huge deal to, you know, bring under the Jagex umbrella, 'cause it's like, you know, it, like, Old School RuneScape and then RuneScape 3, but Dragon Wilds is really, it's kind of its own thing.

Tre, have you played Dragon Wilds?

Uh, you s- spell them backwards, they spell each other.

But, um, yeah, there's just, it's, Menaphos has been blocked off forever.

It's in RuneScape 3, but we never had it, and, um, it's coming to the game.

That's exciting.

Which, which is, it makes sense, especially for RuneScape, because it has had such a weird history of development.

Why, I mean, if, the question is right now, why RuneScape 4? Where does the 4 come from? Well, it's because the current RuneScape is RuneScape 3.

They just kinda dropped the 3 after a while.

But uh, there was the original RuneScape that came out all the way back in the browser days of 2000, 2001, and then they kind of lurched into the RuneScape 2.

Like, it's pl- basically the same game, but it, the next iteration of it.

So they kinda graduated to, to RuneScape 2, and then that graduated to RuneScape 3, which is the current one.

Um, but then [laughs] they launched Old School RuneScape, lurching back to the 2007, which is probably, like, RuneScape 2, I think.

Um, so yeah, it's, it's a little odd because it's, it's not a straight, those are, haven't been straight up sequels.

Which one's O- Old School RuneScape? Must be RuneScape 1, so obviously that means there was a RuneScape 2.

Was there a 3? And I guess, I guess there was.

I don't think they ever called it RuneScape 3.

I think it had a different name, so.

To clarify, this is what everybody is thinking this is going to be, is Menaphos.

Basically... finally finishing the desert uh they have menaphos in runescape 3 we've obviously never had it in old school and i have not played runescape 3 but from what i understand menaphos is a huge hub it's like the secondary hub in runescape 3 behind probably like barok ge um something like that This would be actually really, really cool.

Because if we're getting this, we're almost certainly getting another desert quest of some sort.

Yeah.

I think this could easily come with the quest.

If it is leading into that Hattian skull thing, I would imagine this is at least some sort of master level quest.

From what I understand, it's a fairly high level encounter in RuneScape 3.

Um, so Lord knows what else that could unlock, but, uh, that is the current leading theory day five.
