The issue was, of course, they made a deal with the devil, and they decided to opt for less than savory characters in order to get through sort of locally very problematic people, including the governor of Sinaloa, Rubén Rocha Moya.

And so he's been linked to cartel, uh, operations in the state by the United States.

In fact, citizens in Louisiana did not know anything about it, nothing.

The governor and our state legislature kept it totally quiet.

They studied it.

They researched it.

She has allowed information to be shared between both countries while Mexican troops and police forces carry out raids.

This approach has earned her much criticism around the globe, especially when several members of her political party have been implicated in cartel-connected activities.

And who would expect anything less than corrupt politicians, right? The current governor of Sinaloa, Ruben Rocha Maya, is wanted by the Department of Justice, our Department of Justice, for what? Drug trafficking, conspiracy, and weapons charges for his alleged work with the Sinaloa cartel.

Publicly, Scheinbaum has defended Rocha Maya, claiming that the U.S. has not provided evidence of wrongdoing on his part.
