Rubén Amaro Jr.

Maybe it's, it comes into play with long-term forecasts.

Like, when the, the Phillies were good before the current Phillies got good, but they were kinda aging and trying to hold onto it, and Ruben Amaro Jr. was in charge of the Phillies-

Right

... it's like that was a, a champion that was built by maybe more of an old school approach, though that was more viable back then.

I don't know that he's going to be wanting to be at the helm of a team that's running it back.

All right, so before we get to Ruben Amaro's statement about the personnel in the second part of that clip, to Todd Zielecki's point, Does Don Mattingly want this job after you knew the only reason you got the interim tag was because Cora turned you down in the middle of the season? And now the only reason they would turn to you again is because Cora turned them down a second time.

At one point, doesn't Mattingly just say, hey, listen, you don't want me.

I'm not your top choice, so I don't want to be here.

Uh, hey, everybody.

It's the Philly Show, Ruben Amaro Jr., Jim Salisbury.

I am Todd Zolecki.

It's Monday, October 12th, 2026.

It's going to be Don.

Well, until we find out, uh, we got together, we put our brains together, and we came up with a list of Phillies we think are least likely to return in 2027.

I sent Jim and Ruben a list of 24 Phillies, and then Ruben responded to the email.

Jim, he goes, "This is a lot of work." [laughs]

They're not gonna change the roster.

I don't care what Ruben Amaro says.

They're not getting rid of...

You know, they may, they may move Turner to the center field.

Uh, you know, I've, I've gone on record and said...

You know, Ruben Amaro, he called me, uh, Stan Kasten called me.

So there were some offers, but, uh, yeah, the...

I, I don't know.
