I enjoyed when I did, I'm doing Will and Ralph Should Know Better at the moment, series three.

You know, in that we've got, we've been able to, we've done a drag show at the Royal Vauxhall Tavern and took it seriously.

It's not like, you know, pantomime dame stuff.

It's like, right, drag is a really important thing.

And apparently what you have to do, each performance, says here in The Times, is designed to take the audience on a journey using sound, heat and towel-based choreography, which helps to waft around the steam.

So people tell stories about things like Freddie Mercury and Princess Diana going to the Royal Vauxhall Tavern, about Hurricane Katrina, about all sorts of things.

And they're supposed to, it's a ritual and you're using smells and towel choreography and costumes.

Obviously, when I go to the sauna, I just want to sit quietly.

And I feel extremely lucky to have had time with a queer saint and someone who is so rightly revered for their contributions to our culture.

Music's very important to me.

I'm not performing or anything.

So how did this paper come about, and can you say a bit more about it?

I was in the Royal Vauxhall Tavern with Phil Hammack, the author of the other paper, and I was showing him a pub event.

I'm fairly certain it was the year that Recon allow or put on a pub play event.

Again, the fact that it was in the RVT, it was completely social.

Her mind was made up.

Princess Diana wanted to go to the Royal Vauxhall Tavern, a notorious gay bar in London.

But how to sneak actual royalty, currently the Princess of Wales, one of the biggest celebrities in the world, into a packed bar? How could they avoid causing a scene of outright pandemonium? Freddie Mercury and Kenny Everett, the former DJ who propelled Queen into the stratosphere when he played Bohemian Rhapsody on the radio all those years ago, had an idea.

They'd dress their friend Diana in drag.

But freedom for Diana meant hiding her true self.

There were the aviator sunglasses, a cap made of leather, an old army jacket, very butch, very clone.

The Royal Vauxhall Tavern was packed to the hilt.

Freddie, Kenny, and Diana bellied up to the bar and ordered a round.
