Now, the CBC News article quickly points out that in this position, he would have more power than industry minister Melanie Jolie or defense minister David McGinty when it comes to purchasing for the military.

Now, Bombardier already has a bunch of plants in the US, and this is pissing off some of Trump's congressional allies who have this company's plants in their state.

It is not clear to me that Trump understands exactly what rake he's stepping on here by f- having the US fuck with a, specifically a Canadian aircraft manufacturer, where this is the site of one of the most humiliating chapters of the history of Canada as a branch plant economy, and the destruction of the Avro Arrow, which was a really quite good late '50s Canadian jet fighter that was created by this Canadian manufacturer named Avro, which was supposed to be produced in this effort to have Canada become its own kind of, like, semi-independent military power in, in the ability to have a Canadian fighter jet that would be used by the Canadian Air Force and then sold to the rest of the world.

And then the Canadian government, under pressure from the United States, scrapped the entire project, uh, destroyed all the planes, and physically destroyed all of the manufacturing capacity.

And this is one of sort of the peak moments of the US just going absolutely not.

When he saw the Gray Cup victory, when that was all a part of his life, that, that triggered where he is now in his life.

They turned out to be Chinese spy balloons, and ultimately they were shot down by NORAD aircraft.

Now, the interesting thing is the NORAD aircraft that shot them down were United States fighter jets because the Canadian Air Force did not have the range and type of aircraft on assignment to NORAD or elsewhere that were capable of shooting those balloons down, which goes to the under-investment of defense by Canada, which is one of President Trump's legitimate gripes, again, with respect to Canada, as well as other NATO allies that we've seen play out in a substantial increase of commitments to NATO by Canada and other member nations.

I don't th- I th- I, I think the prime minister has, has played his hand exceedingly, Prime Minister Carney, has played his hand exceedingly well.

I mean, he doesn't have a lot of cards because of this difference in scale.

So we have the same age, same type, same chemistry, as the rocks that host the big shear zones in Yellowknife.
