Roy Riegels

Tell us about that one.

Well, in 1928, I was backfield coach at Georgia Tech, and we went through undefeated, and we were invited to the Rose Bowl, and we played California, and it was Roy Riegels that recovered a fumble, and he ran 65 yards the wrong way, and we were enabled, enabled us to win the game eight to seven.

And then we asked Riegels after the game why he got mixed up, and he says, uh, he was the center, and he says, "How can you expect anything from a fella that sees the world upside down half the season anyway as a center?" See?

Don, thank you for coming across the field to talk to us, the great Don Miller of the Four Horsemen.
