We were s- and, and you know, I still s- even though I agree with what Landslide and, um, Lex was saying, I do stand by the, the fact that everybody deserves a voice, and I think Sparky D is an example of that because Sparky, Sparky D is someone who launched her career off of the Roxanne, the, the Roxanne Wars.

She's someone that emerged during the Roxanne Wars, taking UTFO's side, dissing Roxanne Shante, and they later on went on to tour together and record together.

You know what I mean? And I think that's the importance of hip-hop is giving the community a voice.

Whether we like it or not, I think that's where freedom of choice comes in.

Is it like when Sugar Hill Gang had a successful record and broke into the industry? Is it Curtis Blow being the first MC to go gold? You know what I'm saying? Is it...

You know, is it a particular moment? Is it a particular battle? Is it KRS-One versus MC Shin? Is it the Roxanne Wars? Is it the 50 Cent versus Ja Rule? Is it, you know what I'm saying, different eras, different battles, different situations? Is it Jay-Z versus Nas? See, everybody came in at a different time.

So what you say and what you think is valid because it's your experience.

My experience is my experience, you know? For me, the most important and dopest things that I've experienced in hip-hop were the Zulu Nation anniversaries and the Rocksteady Crew anniversaries because all the elements were at these events, you know what I'm saying? But if there's a particular point in time that you experienced, it could have been a Wu-Tang show.
