Like, we went to Ross Park Mall.

Okay, I took the kids.

And, I mean, it was just not a smart move.

Yeah, it's dangerous out there, people.

I know the economy sucks, but boy, people had lots of bags.

And it looks like they included, like, maybe it's not concept art, but it definitely is not a picture of the space.

But this store appears to be larger than the shop that we saw at the Ross Park Mall in Pittsburgh.

Well, based on the stories you shared...

Of the opening weekend and the lines and more to the point that the people who got turned away, I would imagine it's like, OK, get someplace bigger.

You know, that's at Mon- uh, that's at Ross Park Mall.

Oh, it is.

Mm-hmm.

On the other hand, to the extent that we have functioning malls, nice malls anymore in the United States, they're all in wealthy areas with overwhelmingly white homogenous populations.

So take the Ross Park Mall in North Pittsburgh, for example.

Now lo- local news reports will tell you that it's, it's doing very well.

But I'm gonna tell you the truth, though, about why it's doing well.

They're thriving.

People are coming here in droves.

Ross Park Mall is the region's biggest exception to the dying mall.

While other malls have suffered from online shopping and disinvestment, its parent company, Simon, has aggressively reinvested in its properties, managing to stay ahead of the curve, assembling cutting-edge stores.

Right.

Ross Park Mall.

So that's coming in 2028.

I think it's funny, like if you want to spend $90 on a fast fashion sweater that looks like something you probably already own from Target, here you go.

So, you know, depending on how many people live there, it could be upwards of four or five hundred new neighbors in Southside trying to park on East Carson Street.

So, Graystar, come in to the Southside.

Which of these about our new neighbors, Mallory, is true and which are false? Trader Joe's downtown, Zara and Ross Park Mall, or America's largest landlord in the South Side.

The landlord story feels the most absurd, but for that reason, seems like it has to be true.

I'm just saying if there's ever a night where everybody starts taking these cameras out, that's probably going to be a smart night to do it.

JCPenney, Vera Bradley, Banana Republic, and Levi's out.

So it's going to take up a good footprint in there.

When I am out, I cannot believe the level of weed that there is.

I mean, going into the bathroom at Ross Park Mall the other day, I thought I was going to collapse.

I got into an elevator in Mellon Square parking lot, parking garage downtown, and And it's just everywhere.

I was on McKnight Road at a stoplight and someone had broken down ahead of me and they got out of their car to come ask me a question.
