But what have you seen then in terms of major shifts over the course of that 10 year period in terms of, you know, has there been a change of approach in the industry in terms of what clients spoke to you about back then and what they're speaking to you about now?

I mean, she's correct that you'd say that data protection laws have been around for a lot longer than 10 years.

Any data protection practitioner will be listening to this going, wanting to be to correct there.

But you're absolutely right.

The GDPR was a landmark moment in the space of privacy law.

I think the big difference I see is that looking at our clients, I largely advise in-house lawyers with that specialist expertise to check where they are, to make sure that we can compare what we're doing with our clients, perhaps to give a bit of market mapping, which clients usually really find valuable.

And the big difference I see, particularly for in-house general counsel lawyers, is that for smaller companies, there is a far more focus around making sure data protection is done properly.
