But again, and again, as we've said, that Um, actually, before we fin-finish that, he says this is, uh, also helps to answer the Shaagas Aryeh's question in the Tur Yeven in Rosh Hashanah chaf ches, where there it talks about if somebody forces you to eat matzah, stuffs it down your throat.

So Gemara says if-- ooh, what mean? [reading foreign language] It says if somebody forces you to eat matzah, you're yotzei.

We love our life, but we can elevate it to a whole new level with our appreciation.

So my dear friends, I want to show you this amazing, amazing piece of Talmud on 16b in Tractate Rosh Hashanah.

Talmud says as follows, Amr Rabi Yochanan, sorry, Amr Rav Kruz B'dai, Amr Rabi Yochanan, Rav Kruz B'dai, said in the name of Rabbi Yochanan, three books are opened on Rosh Hashanah.

One of the completely wicked, and one book of the completely righteous, and one of intermediate people.

Rashi says over here, it's good to know that Rava was also a Qayan.

That's the first Rashi under Digamara, the wide line, according to Masechtos Rosh Hashanah.

Both Abaye and Rava came to Beth Ailey.

which had a curse, they passed away young, and that's the Gemara that says that they lived relatively longer, because they had this Chosav Taira, or Taira and Gamach.

Let's read that bolded phrase, „Ki’ivu nivrasem b’riah chadashah," I will treat you as though you have been created anew.

This is from Tractate Rosh Hashanah, which says that since you entered...

God says, "Since you entered before me in judgment on Rosh Hashanah and came out in peace, I will treat you as though you have been created anew." So you see this renewal that is evoked on Rosh Hashanah, that is, God is truly treating us in that way, but obviously it's almost, that's the invitation, the opportunity, but whether or not I actually experience my life as being created anew has everything to do if I hear, with if I hear the shofar's call, right? The world being recreated anew, God treating us as, as if we've been created anew is not enough.

That decision to respond to that call is what Rosh Hashanah is about and what the mitzvah of showing up for shofar is.

in Eretz Yisrael, is Rashi later on Kuflam and Vav on Bez, and Rashi on Kuflam and Ches on Bez, Rashi on Shabbos on Yudam and Bez, sounds this way, that it's not Noeg in Chutz Laaretz.

And the Raya is from Rabbi Eloi on Kuflam and Vav, where Rabbi Eloi says that Rashi Slagay is Noeg in Eretz Yisrael, because we learn Nesina Nesina Mi Truma, that just like Truma is only in Eretz Yisrael and not in Chutz Laaretz, so Matanos for Rashi Slagay is only in Eretz Yisrael and not in Chutz Laaretz, And the Gemara says, the Gemara says in the context of the Rosh Hashanah, that the world is no egg like Rabbi Elohim.

So Rabbi Elohim's comment is both about the Rosh Hashanah and the Matanos and the Zohar, and the world is no egg like Rabbi Elohim.

So it stands to reason that we should always be no egg like Rabbi Elohim, even in the Gabe, Zohar, the Chayayim, and the Keva.

The problem is as follows.

Okay, so in honor of Rosh Hashanah that is fast approaching, we're gonna do a little Talmudic study on the blowing of the shofar.

And particularly, we're gonna look at a modern question that came up particularly in the last few years.

What if I can't make it to shul on Rosh Hashanah? Can I hear a live stream of the shofar? Can I tune in on Zoom like we're doing now and hear the shofar from the comfort of my home? if I can't make it to shul? So obviously, live streaming is a more modern invention.

And yet we're going to see that even the Talmud deals with such questions.

So we'll start with the Mishnah.

There's a tractate called Rosh Hashanah, appropriately named as it is talking about the various laws and relevant issues around Rosh Hashanah.

And it says the following, if a if a person blows the shofar into a pit, a cistern or a large barrel, so the person blowing the shofar was somehow inside the pit or blowing it into a cistern, some water container or a large barrel, if the listener heard the sound of the shofar, he's fulfilled his obligation.

But if he heard the sound of reverberation, he's not fulfilled his obligation.

We just need to come prepared.

So we look at the Mishnah in Rosh Hashanah, in Tractate Rosh Hashanah, and the Mishnah says a fascinating thing.

The world is judged at four different periods of time.
