Ropinirole

This was in 2011.

Didier Jambard, 51, of France, is suing the British pharma company GlaxoSmithKline claiming the drug he took to treat his Parkinson's, Requip it's called, turned him into a gambling and gay sex addict.

The married father of two says he blew [laughs] through his family savings and even took to stealing to finance his online gambling habits, the French press agency said.

He also became addicted to gay sex and risky sexual encounters that led to him being, uh, well, having a, a, an s- an SA situation.

Uh, Parkinson's disease destroys neurons deep within the brain that release the, quote, "feel-good neurotransmitter dopamine." Requip belongs to a class of drugs called dopamine agonists that relieve motor symptoms such as shaking, stiffness, et cetera.

Uh, but they have side effects which apparently, uh, are, uh, gay sex.

So, yeah.

It just wasn't happening.

And I had to step back because I was on Ropinirole, and I had to switch off that medication and get onto, um, carbidopa/levodopa anyways.

But when I took those two months off, that's when, like, my executive function came back, and it was, like, a huge noti-noticeable, noticeable difference for me that I was able to think more clearly.

And, um, now that I've been-- I, I was part-time for f- those four years, and I just stepped back in to go full-time just for a short while to help out.
