Ronald Reagan Washington National Airport

We're gonna try and get through the show a little bit quicker 'cause we've both got flights to catch.

And to make it even more difficult, Ian flying out of Ronald Reagan, and I'm flying out of the international airport, so just to make things even more interesting.

Ian is departing out of the Ronald Reagan Airport, and I'm departing out of the, um, IAD.

Look at that.

As we denizens of Washington know, the most incoming flights to Washington to Reagan National Airport come right down over the Potomac River, right by the site of that arch.

Oh, God.

Yeah, but the other question is, what actually is going on here? One, this is the second time this week, the first time being with the newspaper individuals being, you know, banned, that all of a sudden when you need an out and an explanation for something, it becomes national security.

One year ago, a United flight on approach to DCA, Reagan Airport in DC, just struck a kite that was flying at Gravely Point, which is like the planes fly over there.

Police confiscated the kite.

But the plane survived.

And as you get higher in the museum, it gets lighter, and the incredible contributions from the African American community, not just to our nation, but to the world.

And I was leaving Washington, D.C. after Memorial Day weekend, and I was at National Airport, and right in front of me passes Congressman John Lewis.

Hmm.

And I normally don't walk up to people.

Uh, 250 feet high in the middle of the approach lanes to National Airport, with the end of one end of Memorial Bridge, blocking the views, but, uh, changing, despoiling the landscape, uh, just as much an architectural eyesore as the 90,000 square foot ballroom complex that he's forcing on America.

But, y- you know, I think he felt this was in jeopardy.

So what he decided to do via the, uh, uh, a post over the weekend, was announce that, uh, the military had come to him, total lie of course, and said that, uh, for national security reasons, they need to have this arch so that they could launch drones from it, put snipers on top of it, and make it a, a storage facility for munitions.

I do wanna make a point about the arch.

Two points about the arch.

The first is, you put up that 250-foot arch where that is, and it's right in the f- approach flight path to National Airport, and everybody call it National Airport.

Um, there will be a crash at some point because a plane clips this monstrosity.

Uh, the team president, Kate Greenberg, was a, a big fan of using the flight puns.

It was perfect because from Reagan Airport, you had the planes taking off in the middle of us.

She was addressing everybody, and, um, you know, the area, unique, and it was great.

And I, and I, I really liked the mock-up that they showed us of the Anthem.

And the idea of filling it with weapons while cars sit in traffic around it every day.

And airplanes, by the way, this is another problem, as airplanes fly over it, because it's right in the approach path for Reagan National Airport.

You know, it's a stupid and dangerous idea.

But I also don't think that the president is serious about it.
