Ronald Ray Howard

He had never been in trouble of any kind and it really is traumatizing for him.

Soon after that, after the album was released, um, there's another incident that because that eventually sort of defines him in the public eye, um, After the album's released, a young man named Ronald Ray Howard, who Tupac never met and never would meet, steals a car and starts driving south and is eventually pulled over by a state trooper.

And unfortunately, Howard shoots the man who pulls him over and kills him.

And this is a tragedy, right? We can't really call it anything else.

In Soldier's story, for example, it's a cautionary tale about what will actually happen to young black men if they pursue the life of a soldier, right?

Yeah, absolutely.

This is the song, I'm glad you bring it up, right? This is the song that ends up being a flashpoint with the Ronald Ray Howard case.

That song does contain the lines, you know, they finally pulled me over and I laughed, remember Rodney King and I blasted his punk ass.
