Derek JohnsonHOST
And that's what those two guys struggled with in this one.
Derek JohnsonHOST
And then Roman Pearson had a 54 grade.
Derek JohnsonHOST
Other stats of note here, I mentioned Leroy Harris had seven pressures earlier.
Derek JohnsonHOST
That is an incredible number.
Derek JohnsonHOST
I guess I thought Bam Crouch actually played a pretty good game.
Derek JohnsonHOST
I thought Roman Pearson played pretty well for KU.
Derek JohnsonHOST
So those would be the two that I would kind of point to.
Derek JohnsonHOST
Yeah.
Derek JohnsonHOST
That's why the grade is a little bit lower.
Derek JohnsonHOST
I thought Roman Pearson played pretty well.
Derek JohnsonHOST
He was backed up five targets allowed for just 24 yards, less than five yards per target.
Derek JohnsonHOST
Pretty good there.
Derek JohnsonHOST
And then, um, the other TFL went to Malachi Curvey.
Derek JohnsonHOST
You had two pass breakups from Roman Pearson.
Derek JohnsonHOST
I-- Pearson did get the, uh, one, um, pass interference, but I actually thought he was pretty good coverage on the outside.
Derek JohnsonHOST
We'll just give it to Roman Pearson.
Derek JohnsonHOST
We'll, we'll give Pearson the, uh, defensive recognition there.
Derek JohnsonHOST
And then special teams, I mean, I know who it's not.
Henry GreensteinGUEST
He got hurt on the second one.
Henry GreensteinGUEST
So, you know, with some combination probably of Austin Alexander and Roman Pearson, they're going to have to try to make things work there.
Henry GreensteinGUEST
Safety is okay, I think.
Henry GreensteinGUEST
But when I talk about weaknesses in the defense, it's always that cornerback two position that I look to for Kansas.
Derek JohnsonHOST
But that one hurts because he's played a lot of reps for you this season at the corner spot.
Derek JohnsonHOST
Now you're just counting more on Roman Pearson and Austin Alexander, who hasn't had a great start to the year.
Derek JohnsonHOST
Keaton Kubeka, also doubtful here.
Derek JohnsonHOST
I think Kubeka hasn't...
Henry GreensteinGUEST
As you can probably tell from the questions I ask at press conferences, I'm still a little concerned about the cornerback spot opposite Jalen Todd, especially with Saeed getting hurt in that game after he committed two pass interference penalties.
Henry GreensteinGUEST
I think Roman Pearson has looked decent.
Henry GreensteinGUEST
He and Austin are going to have to find a way to lock that down.
Henry GreensteinGUEST
scattered observations.
Nick SpringerHOST
Sayeed Gibbs' status is unclear against K State after he suffered what looked like a hamstring injury, uh, in the game against Utah.
Nick SpringerHOST
Roman Pearson played quite a bit there.
Nick SpringerHOST
You have a guy like Austin Alexander as well on that and in that outside position.
Nick SpringerHOST
So there are other guys KU can rotate in across from Jalen Todd, but they'll certainly need those guys to step up against K State coming up on Saturday.
Nick SpringerHOST
There was, again, going-- We had the conversation about the penalties.
Nick SpringerHOST
There was a, a lot of PIs and a lot of holdings calls in the secondaries, uh, for the game, and I, you know, there was a play where Roman Pearson had a great pass breakup, but it was a PI, but it, that one was actually a good call.
Nick SpringerHOST
That was definitely a, a PI.
Nick SpringerHOST
And I, I don't know.
