So it is a fact that Ulrich's snare drum sound on the album is an unspeakable monstrosity, that the songs are long and boring, and that Saint Anger is nearly always included on lists of the worst albums.

For instance, Rolling Stone's 50 Genuinely Horrible Albums by Brilliant Artists, Flavor Wire's The 50 Worst Albums Ever Made, louder sounds, the 20 worst rock albums ever, etc.

And sure, Kirk Hammett was correct in some kind of monster when he complained that by eliminating guitar solos, the band would date the hell out of the album.
